My Pioneer DVR-A05 gets 6MB/s with an audio CD but it's in an external USB enclosure and uses USB 1.1 so that speed is acceptable. USB 1.1 is limited to less than 1 MB/s, smartass. My Lite-On 48125W CD-RW is on IDE 1 as Master with a HDD as slave. With the same audio CD, it gets 18MB/s.
